Maina Doe represents the multi-faceted nature of contemporary music, with earnest experimentation at her core. Born and raised in the Indonesian city of Bandung, Maina was enveloped in a vibrant, tropical environment that lit her creative spark, and she began singing from an early age. Later moving to Sydney, Australia, Maina dived headfirst into the city's creative communities, participating in writing and vocal sessions with talents from Sydney's burgeoning jazz, soul and R&B communities, which lead to independent single releases Delusion and Unwritten Laws featuring Genesis Owusu, which garnered support from Soulection, Rinse FM and Jamz Supernova. Maina’s lauded 2022 single ‘Primal Design’ saw extensive global DSP support, and love from the likes of RUSSH, BBC 1xtra, Vice and more. Reinforcing her unique position as a multi-sensory artist, she has starred in campaigns with fashion heavyweights Vogue, Chanel and Calvin Klein and was invited to perform at the Sydney Opera House as part of Liminal, a music film series where unique live performances are captured for the screen.
