Hailing from Orange County, California, Filipino-American artist, 8rae, weaves elements of hip-hop, R&B and alt-pop to create a distinct sound with unique authenticity. In October 2022, 8rae featured on 88Rising imprint PARADISE RISING’s compilation album, semilucent 3, spotlighting emerging Filipino talent, and celebrating Filipino American History Month. Later in the month, 8rae returned with his sophomore EP, WHO TF IS 8RAE? via Genius Distro, which garnered support from platforms/curators such as: Early Rising, Ones To Watch, MidniteCult, Show & Tell, That Good Sh*t, saving connie, Shrek Knows Rap and GallixC. “Lost Cause”, the lead single from the project, has been featured on various editorials across streaming platforms, and has currently passed 900,000 streams on Spotify. 8rae responded with his next two singles, “off a few”, and “bust” (featuring Kevin Powers), which have over 150,000 streams and 50,000 streams respectively. Keep on the lookout as 8rae will return with a new project in 2024.
